Happy Valentine’s Day!

While we don’t really celebrate this holiday at the office, save for a few VD Dove candies in a dish on my desk for visitors, we do celebrate our care and love for others in one of our three core values: care, think, and act.  Care, the first of those values, is others focused.  We care about our team members, our clients and the world around us.  MSN supports a variety of local causes in which we can be involved.

We love our city, Pittsburgh, and the western Pennsylvania region.  In the past year, we supported the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, which has, over the time I moved here since 1982, turned a former section of the city filled with massage parlors and adult book stores into a beautiful center focused on facilities for the arts and new restaurants.  We supported the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, one of the world’s greatest.  We worked with food banks, coordinated Toys for Tots, and provided Christmas for those who could not provide it for themselves.  We worked with Light of Life Rescue Mission to help take care of the homeless in the region.  We helped former employees going through difficult times.

MSN works hard for our clients, not just because it is our responsibility, but because we honestly care about doing great work for organizations we love.  We care about our team because they are part of us every day.  So, my Valentine’s thought is to let your family, friends, co-workers, and clients know you care every day.  If you don’t feel like it, Valentine’s might be a great time for a little soul searching.  Love starts with caring, but it moves out into thinking and action.  That’s a foundation that works at home, at work, and in the world.
